Clinic software for the front desk and the OPD

A clinic is not lost in the consultation room. It is lost at the desk — three people asking who is next, a walk-in inserted into a booked slot, a file that was last seen in someone's hand. Clinic software is what turns that into one ordered list. MedSlay runs the desk and the OPD on the same system the doctor consults on, so nothing has to be re-entered between them.

The day, in order

  • Registration. A new patient is created once, at the desk or from their own online booking, and found by name or number after that.
  • Appointments. Patients book from your public profile in the Doctor Directory; phone bookings and walk-ins are entered by your front desk. All three land in the same queue.
  • Tokens. Every booking, however it arrived, gets a token number and a place in one ordered list — the clinic works from that list instead of from memory.
  • Check-in. The desk marks arrivals; the doctor's screen shows who is actually present, not just who was booked.
  • Consultation. The doctor talks to the patient while MedSlay listens, transcribes 22+ Indian languages into clinical English and drafts the note, tests and medicines to confirm.
  • Prescription. Confirmed by the doctor and printed on your letterhead at the desk, or shared digitally with dosage instructions in the patient's language.
  • Follow-up. The next visit opens the same file — history, past prescriptions, uploaded reports and referrals, in one place.

Each person has their own login rather than a shared clinic account, and every action is logged against whoever performed it — which matters the day someone asks who changed a record.

"Clinic software", "practice management software", "EMR" — which one is this

The phrase usually meansWhat it coversIn MedSlay
Clinic softwareRunning the day: desk, appointments, queue, billingIncluded
Practice management softwareThe business: multiple clinics and doctors, staff, analytics, claimsIncluded — see practice management software in India
EMR / EHRThe clinical record itself: notes, prescriptions, reports, historyIncluded, written by voice during the visit

They overlap more than the labels suggest, and most clinics end up needing all three. MedSlay is one system covering the three rather than three systems that have to be kept in agreement.

Beyond the OPD

Clinics that admit patients get a full in-patient module on the same login: wards and beds on a live board, admissions built from treatment protocols and startable directly from an OPD consultation, voice-assisted daily charts for vitals, medicines, tests and condition updates, operative records, discharge summaries, and insurance claim files assembled from the patient's own chart.

What you need to run it

A browser and an internet connection. MedSlay is a web application — nothing to install on clinic machines, no server in the back room, no update weekends. It works on desktops, laptops and tablets, and a microphone is all the extra hardware a voice-assisted consultation needs.

What it costs

One month completely free on the full feature set for every new doctor registration, with no feature locked and no card needed to start. After that, MYOP — Make Your Own Plan, built around the number of doctors, clinics and patients you actually have.

Questions we get asked

Can walk-in patients be added to the same queue as online bookings?

Yes, and they should be. Walk-ins and phone bookings entered by your front desk receive a token and join the same ordered queue as patients who booked online from your profile. The clinic then works from one list, which is the only way the token number means anything.

Does my receptionist need a separate licence or a shared login?

Your assistant gets their own named login with role-based access — never a shared clinic account. They handle registration, appointments, check-in, the token queue and IPD admission, while clinical records and prescriptions stay with the doctor, and every action is logged against the person who performed it.

Can one clinic use it before we roll it out everywhere?

Yes. Clinics are configured individually, with their own address and OPD timings, so one location can run on MedSlay while others carry on as they are. Doctors who visit more than one clinic keep a single login across them, so nothing has to be rebuilt when you add the rest.

Is there anything to install on the clinic computers?

No. MedSlay runs in a browser on desktops, laptops and tablets, so there is nothing to install, nothing to update and no server to maintain at the clinic. A microphone is all the extra hardware you need for voice-assisted consultations.
